J-funk-a-delic

The boy Rag' has just pointed me in the direction of another anime I might like. K-On! is the title, and it apparently features four Japanese girls starting a rock band at school and having various hi-jinx and shenanigans along the way. Sounds good, especially as it's only 13 parts, and I HATE never ending anime series. Bleach, Naruto, Gundam, Dragon Ball, whatever, if it takes four episodes of filler fighting before we get to a story, I'm outta there, regardless of how enjoyable it was initially.

Stuff like Midori No Hibi, Azumanga Daioh and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya are much more my thing, and with the intro to the anime being produced by the Haruhi ending team, I was pretty much sold on that alone.

Having now become hooked on the tune before I've even seen the show, I scouted round YouTube looking for full length versions. And found this beastie. I think I need a bass guitar again...Enjoy!

Marvel x Kotobukiya range expands!

One of the first posts made on artificialconstruct was this little missive, dribbling over the dream combination of Kotobukiya sculpting, a particular X-laydee and Shunya Yamashita's design skills. I was unaware at the time that other Marvel maidens were due the same treatment, with Black Widow already available as I type, and Scarlet Witch due by the end of the year.

Rogue, the object of my Marvel fanboy lust, still isn't out in the UK, but is due to arrive at the end of August. Which is perfect for my birthday - although I'll have to buy it myself, as my lovely wife has already spoiled me rotten with a Marvel vs Capcom 2 cart for my Naomi cabinet. ^_^

Still, while it was nice to see extra additions being made to the series, neither Black Widow or the Scarlet Witch are particular favourites of mine. I've never been a huge Avengers fan, preferring my super-teams to have X-genes. Lucky for me then, that the Japanese statue buying public have similar taste, as they've recently voted on what the next two figures in the range should be - Phoenix and Psylocke!

Phoenix might be the more iconic and important of the two to the whole X-Men saga, but for this boy, Psylocke is where the money's at. Or where my money will be going, to be more accurate. Brit girl's mind in a Japanese ninja girl's body? With telekinesis/telepathy/teleportation (delete as appropriate, depending on whatever they're giving her this week)? In THAT costume? Ding dong! Preview sketch below, but in the meantime I'm setting up camp at online toy stores to get my hands on a pre-order as soon as humanly possible!

Day. Officially. Made!
